The Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) is the voice of more than 18,000 university faculty, academic librarians, and academic professionals across Ontario. The interns had the opportunity to meet OCUFA President Nigmendra Narain and Executive Director Jenny Ahn at the OLIP office in the Whitney Block on Friday, November 1st, 2024. We learned about the problems facing higher education institutions across Ontario and how government policy impacts faculty and staff.
Established in 1964, OCUFA represents 30 member organizations through on-campus support and public advocacy. They seek to maintain and enhance the quality of the province’s higher education system, and to advance the professional and economic interests of their members.
We want to thank Professor Narain and Jenny for meeting with us and telling us more about their work. We are incredibly grateful for OCUFA’s continued support of the OLIP program. Without the generous support of our partners, the OLIP program would not have been possible.
