Our cohort was very lucky to meet with Gary Clement who is the Director of Government Relations at TD Canada Trust––a dedicated partner of our program. Mr. Clement has been with the organization for about 21 years and has graciously made the time to meet with several past OLIP cohorts, with this year’s cohort being no exception.
We were fortunate to hear about Mr. Clement’s experience working in both the public and private sectors and his journey to his current employer. In addition, through hearing his remarks, we grew our understanding of the importance of collaboration between both sectors and how collaboration with government is made possible through GR work. Lastly, Mr. Clement imparted helpful advice to the cohort which we will take forward with us as we continue with our careers: Be nice to everybody.
