Partner Blog: Our Meeting With Impact Public Affairs

In March, we had the opportunity to meet with Brett Hartley & Nathan Bains from Impact Public Affairs. We are very pleased to announce that Impact Public Affairs has recently become one of our newest partners! Founded in 1997, Impact Public Affairs is a full-service government relations and communications firm based in Ottawa, with offices across Canada. As a successful results-oriented firm, Impact’s wins for clients have received multiple accolades both domestically and internationally. 

We discussed the importance of exposure and accountability in government relations and bringing the priorities of clients to the forefront, whether it be through public relations & media relations, events, strategic communications, and digital engagement. We also appreciated learning directly about the range of work that political consulting experts engage with on a daily basis, including strategic planning, press releases, relation building and lots of writing! 

On a more personal level, we enjoyed speaking with Brett and Nathan, and learning first-hand how their background working in partisan offices has informed their current roles at Impact Public Affairs, as Manager and Associate at the firm. We really enjoyed discussing careers in government and public relations, and the rapidly changing political landscape in Ontario. Thank you for taking the time to meet with us and thank you to Impact Public Affairs for becoming a partner of OLIP!
