Partner Blog: Landscape Ontario

The opportunity to learn about unfamiliar industries and sectors across Ontario always excites us – we loved learning about the horticulture industry and the important work their 3,000 professional members do. In June, we met with Joe Salemi, Executive Director of the Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association (Landscape Ontario). Landscape Ontario is the province’s premier horticultural trades association, with a mission to be the leader in representing, promoting and fostering a favourable climate for the advancement of the horticultural industry in Ontario.

We had a productive conversation about their advocacy efforts, including hiring and recruiting more skilled trades workers in Ontario, the infestation of box tree moths, and snow and ice management liability issues. We also explored the pros and cons of alternatives to road salts, such as studies being done on liquid deicers, sand and gravel. It was also great to learn that the industry plants millions of trees in Ontario!

Thank you, Joe, and Landscape Ontario for our newly established partnership. We look forward to many more successful endeavours together.
