I spent my second MPP placement with Andrew Dowie, MPP for Windsor-Tecumseh, and PA to the Minister of Environment, Conservation and Parks. My time in MPP Dowie’s office was exciting and fast paced, with many varying tasks to work on each day. The placement began while MPP Dowie was PA to the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, which allowed me to support MPP Dowie through his transition to a new ministry and during his time learning about the new file.
Once we began working at the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks I had the opportunity to do some more Ministry work for MPP Dowie, which included staffing him at several major speaking opportunities across Toronto. I also worked on a community newsletter which is being distributed to the residents of Windsor-Tecumseh in the coming weeks.
During my placement, I also had the pleasure of visiting the riding and participating in a tour with Minister of Seniors and Accessibility, Hon. Raymond Cho, and attended several community events with MPP Dowie. MPP Dowie also introduced me to several local politicians, including Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens.
Thank you to MPP Dowie, his Executive Assistant Brianna, and the wonderful staff at the Constituency Office for welcoming me so warmly into the office. I’m grateful to all of you for providing me with such a valuable and educational experience.
