The Interns
Paul Di Ianni is a native of Hamilton, Ontario. He recently completed a Master of Arts degree in Political Science concentrating on Public Policy and Administration with a minor in Canadian Politics from McMaster University. Prior to graduate school, Paul completed a Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science where he focused on European history and Canadian politics at McMaster University. Prior to attending McMaster, Paul graduated with a Computer Science Co-op diploma from Sheridan College where he focused on data management and other IT related fields. After graduating from Sheridan College, Paul worked for a small, yet dynamic market research firm where he learned to master the fine art of working long hours and dealing with quick deadlines. However, never one to shy away from pursuing goals, Paul returned to school and enthusiastically enjoyed his time at McMaster where he was a member of the McMaster Political Science Association. Also at McMaster, Paul worked as a Teaching Assistant for a third year Political Science statistics course where he thoroughly enjoyed running seminars and grading papers.
Paul’s political interests include, among many, Municipal affairs and he most recently wrote a paper on the inadequacies of the current revenue generating streams available to Ontario’s municipalities and their inability to properly fund municipal infrastructure needs. Outside of the halls of academia, Paul has many interests. Travelling being high on his list of extracurricular activity, he most recently went on a trip through Europe where he visited Paris, Bordeaux, Krakow and Vienna. Another of Paul’s interests includes history, specifically Canadian, European and Classical history. Aside from history and politics, Paul’s other interests include: reading, watching and playing soccer, as well as spending time with family and friends. Paul is thrilled to be part of this year’s OLIP team and is looking forward to a wonderful, exciting, and knowledge acquiring year!
